At Ten Sleep School, I am responsible for providing Special Education educational services (SDI) to students who meet the qualification requirements in one (or more) of the IDEA qualifying areas. IDEA is a Federal Law requiring a free and appropriate education for students with a handicapped condition that are eligible for services. Students who are eligible for services have an IEP (Individual Education Plan) to fit their educational and placement needs.
Eligibility and needs are determined, following an evaluation, by the IEP Team. A very important part of the IEP Team is the parent. Parents know their student the best and provide valuable informaiton about the student. Collaboration with the parents, regular education teachers, the Specal Education Teachers, and school administration is how the IEP developed for the individual student's educational and placement needs.
A Little About Me…
I graduated from Worland High School. I attend the University of Wyoming and received a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education, and a certificate in Exceptional Children K-12 (Special Education). I received my Masters Degree from Grand Canyon University in Curriculum and Instruction in Reading.
I taught for a year in Arizona at Ball Charter Schools before missing Wyoming’s wide open spaces (and family) and returned to Wyoming. I taught for a year at NWBOCES in Thermopolis before beginning to work in Ten Sleep.
I have two wonderfully, amazing adult children. I will have my first grandchild in September of 2024!
