My name is Paula Beck.  This marks my 18th year as Special Education Teacher at Ten Sleep Schools!  The students I work with are great!  They make each day different!

At Ten Sleep School, I am responsible for providing Special Education educational services to student who qualify under IDEA.  IDEA is a Federal Law requiring a free and appropriate education for student with a handicapped condition that are eligible for services.  Students who are eligible for services have an IEP (Individual Education Plan) to fit their educational and placement needs.

I teach classes in reading/writing, math, life skills, and study skills. I teach students ranging in grades from K - 12.

A Little About Me…

I was born in Havre, Montana. When I was 9 months old my family moved to Worland…for what my mom would say the move was only to be for 5 years.  Turns out it was longer than 5 years. My mom passed away in Worland in July 2014.  My dad still lives in Worland.

I graduated from Worland High School. I attend the University of Wyoming and received a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education, certificate in Exceptional Children K-12 (Special Education). I received my Masters Degree from Grand Canyon University in Curriculum and Instruction in Reading.

I taught a year in Arizona at Ball Charter Schools before missing Wyoming’s wide open spaces (and family) and returned to Wyoming. I worked a year at NWBOCES in Thermopolis before beginning to work in Ten Sleep.

I have two children. Christa and Coyer

My daughter ~ Christa was married in February 2018 to her boyfriend of six years, Chris Cazier. They live in Cheyenne were Christa works for the VA.  She was previously a CNA with the VA until she re-injured her back and had to be put on light duty so she is now a Research Analyst compiling and analyzing data for new procedures and practices at the VA.

My son ~ Coyer lives with me in Worland. He is a high school sophomore trying to decide on his plans for the future.  He loves his Diesel truck!
