MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT

Washakie County School District #2 is dedicated to ensuring that life values are taught in a safe, fair, orderly, and caring environment that develops life-long learners. Through this mission, the Pioneers of Ten Sleep School are “Learning to Live Their Dreams.” Our entire staff supports each student’s journey in a personalized pathway for optimal outcomes in academic achievement, social/emotional development, and personal growth. Our desire is to empower our students in their search for meaningful educational experiences. We strive to ensure that students acquire the knowledge and skills to become involved, contributing citizens. The faculty has high expectations while encouraging students to become future leaders of their generation.

We recognize and support the critical need of our students to be college and career ready with a world-class education. However, we cannot do this alone. Involved parents and patrons are essential to the success of our students. Community involvement is vital to the health of our school.

Washakie County School District # 2 has approximately 110 students in one K-12 school located at the base of the Big Horn Mountains in beautiful Ten Sleep, Wyoming. The area has abundant wildlife and is a favorite destination for fall hunters looking to take home trophy deer, elk, or moose. Winter will find local residents and visitors enjoying snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing, as well as downhill skiing at nearby Meadowlark Ski Resort. During the late spring and summer, fly fishermen try their luck in the surrounding streams and mountain lakes while being captivated by the awe-inspiring mountains for which the area is famous. Summertime also brings rock climbers from all over the world to hone their skills in Ten Sleep Canyon.

We are proud of all aspects of life in Ten Sleep where so many of us have “Learned to Live Our Dreams.”

Jimmy Phelps, Superintendent
